In a push-based communication model, remote I/Os will send data only upon change in their state—greatly reducing network traffic. Unlike polling, which constantly polls devices for change (which obviously uses up a lot of bandwidth), push communication really allows the host to use bandwidth and provides it time to do real-time analysis and high-level applications.
